Cooper Surfboards Electric Twin - 5' 9"

£675.00

5’9 x 21 x 2 1/2 @35L

Glassed 6+4/4 with full resin tints and pinlines.

The Electric Twin is the most versatile fish shape available; extremely refined, short, and wide.

In Ollie’s words…”It’s my personal favourite that I surf 90% of the time in the UK.

It’s an adaptation of my traditional fish outline, looking for more top to bottom surfing and performance in smaller waves I pulled the wide point back to introduce more curve in the back end. This creates a tighter turn on rail, a little more width between the feet for glide through flatter sections, and a narrower tail for hold. It also pulled the nose template in slightly, allowing more performance in the curvy pocket of the wave.

The magic is in the foil of this board though. The tail is extremely refined to bite into the wave face even when it gets bigger, this controls the tail end in more powerful, vertical waves. The rail is similar to a performance shortboard while slightly more downturned, this low volume rail effectively makes the board feel thinner while on rail, allowing you to get extremely low and drive through turns.

The Electric Twin is fast and responsive, while never sliding out. The modern fish outline works well with the newer keel/upright hybrids increasingly becoming available.

I happily recommend this board in waves from waist high to overhead. Advanced surfers: ride this 4 to 6″ shorter than your shortboard. Novice and intermediate surfers: ride from the same length as your height up to 2″ longer.”
